We have received a number of phone calls from parents concerning transportation for next year. This warrants an explanation of the expected timeline of the transportation committee. Years ago QCHS and BCS formed a joined transportation committee consisting of volunteers from both Quinte Christian High School, and Belleville Christian School. This committee works closely together with Trenton Christian School to optimize bus routes and minimize expenditures. Geographically Christian school transportation covers a huge area from Cobourg in the west all the way to Kingston in the east, from Picton in the south to Campbellford and Madoc in the north. The first meeting is scheduled for this week. This will be followed by several meetings over the summer to refine the routes further. All families will be notified regarding routes, pick up and drop off times and location the week of August 26, 2013. Our goal as a transportation committee is to work towards decreasing travel times for students. To make this possible, picking up students at the door is not always possible. Please be prepared to have your student make their way to a main road or group pick up site if requested to do so. If you have any concerns or suggestions or to find out how close you are to an existing bus route, please contact the school. IMPORTANT: If you are planning to move be sure to notify the school as soon as possible of the changes to your mailing address.
