We have roles in society and we have rights. Even if we live in a state where it is our right to conceal carry a pistol, if we take a position that is unarmed, that is, Neighborhood Watch, I assert that we do not have the right to carry let alone use a firearm. We are the Watch not police. The police told him to stand down. He had done his job. Thought of this after coming on duty as a Golf Ranger yesterday. A group of 13 in 3 groups. Had been talked to 3 times already. Described as drunk from the parking lot and rowdy. The groups behind were complaining. So I already was dreading having to go out and straighten things out. I was prejudiced. Turns out they were 4 lovely and friendly couples and their older sons in one group of 5 that was last (the reputed rowdy one? not clear). A few beers each if that. They simply did not know how to play golf. And were wandering around aimlessly between shots. And yet, even with my 5 minute observation, my prejudice prevailed and I had some harsh words for them. Luckily the other ranger, having just arrived and he had not heard all of the scuttlebut, saw the situation with clearer eyes and talked to them in the correct way and they were never a problem again.
