We have something to learn from the ecological economics of Herman Daly, especially yong mga economists natin: “Finally, we know that the economic system cannot grow forever on a finite planet. We must limit growth to ensure the well-being of the future, but one cannot ethically tell poor people they must continue to suffer deprivation to ensure that the future does not suffer. If the pie must cease to grow, then we are ethically obliged to redistribute it.
