We have started a murder investigation following the death of a man on Newton Road near Rugby. The man was found in an abandoned vehicle with gunshot wounds in Newton Road, near Newton Village, Rugby following a call from a member of the public at around 11.45am today (Friday 25 July) and was pronounced dead at the scene. One car left the road while two vehicles were seen making off along Newton Road towards Newton village and the A5 road. The two driving off were described as being a silver hatchback and a maroon or red, metallic-coloured car and police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen or heard these vehicles in the area at this time. Two arrests have been made in relation to this incident and inquiries are ongoing. We are appealing for witnesses who may have seen these vehicles to contact 101 quoting incident 155
