We have talked much about praying this week. Do we know how to - TopicsExpress

We have talked much about praying this week. Do we know how to pray? Think about it. Many are telling me it is wrong not to pray for our enemies such as isis. They say we must pray for all. Okay. Tell me this, when we pray do we ask that GODs Will be done or do we pray asking God to fit into our plans and ideas? Do we pray for His deliverance from evil or do we pray according to what we think the answer to our problems is? All throughout the Bible, men of God prayed. It is the most powerful tool in our arsenal that God has given us. But if it stops at the ceiling what good does it do? Do we live in such a way that God does not respond to our prayers? Do we pray in such a way that His prophecies will not be fulfilled because we may be in danger? Just how do we pray? Many times it seems we work out the plan we think God should follow and ask Him to bless it. This is vanity. It is not of God. Jesus prayed the perfect prayer when He gave us His words in Matthew 6. When we pray this prayer, when we pray that Gods will be done and not our own, we must also remember another important little detail. Prayer does not complete our work for God. We are given the Great Commission by Jesus to take the gospel into all the world. Praying alone does not take the gospel to all nations. We still have the responsibility to take action. Now I ask you, when you pray do you also go into the muslim mosques and homes to share the gospel of Jesus? Do you tell them the plan of salvation? When you pray for those less fortunate, do you also give them food, shelter and clothing? When someone is sick do you simply say I will pray for you or do you offer to take them to the doctor or bring them a meal? What about all those you pray for that are alone in this world? Do you try to make a friend? Or do you just sit on your derriere and pray. God never intended us to be mindless, heartless or neglectful of others. He has told us to share His Good News. Watchers is a small, one person page that God called me to do. I do none of it in my own strength or knowledge. Many who have similar pages are the same. But when I view ministry pages, I see people going from one to the other criticizing, complaining, whining and negating all that is done there. All the time they are spreading their joy and sunshine, they themselves are doing nothing for Gods Kingdom. They may pray, but it stops there. All talk and no action. Put your actions where your mouth is and start WORKING for the Kingdom of God rather that tear it down. Seek Gods will. Listen to Him. Follow His command. So while praying is surely Biblical, it is not the entire mission of Gods children. The most recent brouhaha on this page centered around whether or not we should pray for muslims. Do as God leads you. But if you do pray for them, be also prepared to take His message to their communities, homes and mosques. As faith without works is dead, so is prayer without action.
