We have very sad news to report. The Sun-Star has learned Army Spc. Terry Hurne, an Atwater High graduate, was one of five members of the military killed Monday in Afghanistan, according to his family. Weve been hearing that a prayer service is scheduled to be held 6 p.m. tonight at St. Anthonys Church in Atwater, 1801 Winton Way. Some media sources have reported the incident was possibly due to friendly fire. More details will be provided as they become available, and a story will be posted on our website later today.
