We hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend. If you are on Lake Lanier, you may have run into one of our Marine Patrol units. We are utilizing 3 boats during holiday weekends and currently have increased our lake patrols tremendously. Our newest patrol boat is a 27 foot Edgewater center console that was built with law enforcement specifics in mind. During the first few days that we had it on patrol, having the new boat likely saved a life. A suspect was being arrested by Cobb County deputies who were serving an arrest warrant. The suspect fled on foot and jumped into Lake Lanier. The suspect was fully clothed and began to struggle significantly. The new and faster patrol boat was able to respond in an extremely timely manner. The Marine Patrol deputies also utilized our new dive door and were able to pull the suspect to safety. He was then taken into custody by Cobb County deputies.
