We hope you will join us on Friday, December 6 for a festive celebration of NA4J, our communities, and of the movement for quality public schools, affordable housing, public services, living wage sustainable jobs, and community peace and nonviolence. The Tobey Prinz-Dovie Thurman Awards Dinner will be on Friday, December 6 at 1500 W. Elmdale (Immanuel Lutheran Church). Doors open at 6:00pm, dinner served at 6:30pm. This years awardees include housing activist Maryon Banks and education activist Jitu Brown. Cook County Commissioner Jesus Chuy Garcia will be our keynote speaker. Click here to RSVP. Suggested donation: $15-$50. Also, NA4J and our partners at GEM and CODE will host the next Peoples Board Meeting in Uptown. Join us Tuesday, November 19 at the Peoples Church, 941 W. Lawrence, from 6 - 8pm for a peoples school board meeting representing our children, our schools, our city, and our voice! Agenda includes: -Reports on campaign for an Elected School Board, work of School Accountability Committees, etc. -Useful information for Local School Councils (LSCs) -Testimony about your concerns The Peoples Board Meeting is sponsored by Grassroots Education Movement (GEM) and Communities Organized for Democracy in Education (CODE).
