We just brought Gremlin home from Dr. Ballingers. I got to hold him here on his couch in his office when we brought him home. He was still pretty zonked out from his oral surgery. It was SOOO nice to finally be able to hold and pet him! Then he started stirring, so I put him on a towel on the floor, and the little tomcat struggled behind his couch. I left food and water near him. He also had impacted anal glands and was constipated - are those related? He also had a type of tapeworm! They wouldnt have known, but they saw one or two crawling near his butt. They gave him an injection to kill those - theyre transmitted only by fleas, which he doesnt have now, but had to have had at some point in his life - which is around 5-6 years. The vet thought his throat noises couldve been caused by those. We had all four canines pulled. The roots of the 3 fractured canines were already infected - they must have hurt him a lot! The doctor gave him an antibiotic shot, packed the sockets with medication and put in a few dissolvable stitches. She even clipped his claws and brushed him! Alisha Franczak - you are an angel.
