We just received news today that two of our students from the Step Up Roosevelt program are finalists for the Gates Millennium Scholarship! This prestigious scholarship pays for your secondary education through your PhD. Willow Wohlgemuth & Leroy Brandon have made the cut from 55,000+ applicants down to 2,000 finalists (that’s only a 3.6% rate for those of you doing the math)! Soon, the final 1,000 will be selected for the scholarship, so their chance of winning has bettered to 50%! In either case, Willow and Leroy are already winners and high achievers in our book! We are so proud of you both! These students join the ranks of 6 other Step Up students who have been selected as finalists in the past.
