We just spoke with one of the Wisdom Panel doctors who did a deeper investigation on Trouts DNA test and she said Trout seems to have inherited all of the best traits from his ancestors. Those who have met him probably knew that already because he is a very cool dog in many ways, but theres some interesting stuff in his background. She said his ancestry is made up entirely from the 4 subgroups of the ancient breeds and he has mostly Husky and Tibetan Mastiff ancestry throughout. Somewhere in that mix, there was likely a Bulldog grandparent and perhaps a Field Labrador so he has just a tad of those. We learned a lot about the black and tan coloring not just in Trout, but for all other black and tans so that was cool to know. Black and tans arent part of the black dog group, but rather they are part of the red group which includes white, beige, tan and red. Interesting! The real kicker here is that both of Trouts parents have 72% of their genetic makeup in common which is really high and quite unusual. Looks like his family tree might have one branch that doesnt fork... Maybe hes his own cousin, but at least hes an ancient one. LOL!!
