We know it is risky to try to thank everyone publicly because we may miss someone…but we feel we need to try! The 8th Annual Cape Cod Strollathon, held on September 28, 2013 was incredible! We always say this each year, but we think this was the best one yet! The weather was absolutely gorgeous, the new location was a hit, hundreds of people showed up, so much fun was had and much money was raised for Rett research! We want to thank everyone…the parking volunteers from CERT in Yarmouth, Rick Hawes and Kathy Fahle of the Cape Cod Playhouse, our early morning crew—Jared Reeves, Nate Small, Brian Walsh, Jay Reeves, Caron Welch, Robbin Corcoran…our main auction and raffle organizers, Jackie Piscatellli, Laura and John Piscatelli, Mike Ventura and Amanda Cunningham…of course Stanley the dog too! Thank you to Karen Bedwell for getting Jillian ready for the big day and brining her—thank you to Mimi and Poppy for keeping the boys overnight Friday night and getting them to the Stroll! Thank you so much to our balloon girls, Katie McAdams and Kim Robinson (who did so much more than just getting almost 100 balloons to the Stroll!), Dawn Woodward, Cindy Eldredge, and Susan & Bob Laufer for running the Check-In and doing an amazingly organized job! Thank you to our Awareness Sales Table volunteers who did a great job selling--Caitie DePuy, Kelly Berardi, Sandy Rubenstein—and a few last minute helpers, Gina and Nikki Oliveri and Lori Boghdan, Thank you to everyone who helped at the Wheelchair Decorating Table—there were so many wonderful people who helped throughout the day but thank you to our main volunteers, Cynthia & Kaelyn Mayo and Danielle & Maddy McPhee! Thank you KT Welch along with Joni and Judy who ran the incredible Face Painting Table again—but this year included glitter tattoos and feathers for hair! DJ Bobby, sent by Scott Rosenthal was great, thank you! Thank you to Peyton Lambton for adding a new element this year—a Stella & Dot Table—where 25% of proceeds are being donated to the Stroll! The Dennis Police Station sent 5 of the nicest officers who kept our walkers safe during the 3 mile walk—thank you! Thanks to Kallie Hannon for helping to sell raffle tickets and thank you to everyone else who sold them! Many thanks to Nauset Disposal for providing the portapotties and trash/recycling! Thank you to Sundae School Ice Cream for the delicious ice cream and for sending so many awesome people to help serve! Thank you to Rebecca Speight, Sysco, and Cape Cod Paper for the hot dogs and more! Ken Foster of Breakaway—you were a huge hit once again grilling on the impressive X-Grill—thank you! Thank you to our volunteer servers, Jordan McAdams and Mike Robinson and Dan Pastore! The cupcakes from Samantha Ventura were wonderful! Thank you to CrossFit Rumble—to all the members who came to support us and especially to Seth Silva and Lexxie Racheottes for leading a really fun warm up! Tony of Undercover Tent—the tent made it up after some issues and it was beautiful—thank you! Thank you to soooooo many of our teams—Sunny Peas—loved seeing so many of our pre-school friends there, Rogers & Gray—what a nice group of employees—Eddy Elementary School—you guys always show up and show your support—Children’s Hospital—the physicians and researchers—Mnemosyne Pharmaceuticlas, Silly for Jilly, Team Izzie Bizzie, Team EndRetts, Strollin for Sammy, Team Rachael, Abby’s Army, Team Randstad, Team Princess Alicia, Our Hero Hannah, Team Sweet Caroline, Paint the Town Rett, Grammy’s High Strollers, Bella’s Army, Team Northboro, Julia’s Voices, Team Cam-O-Lot, CrossFit Rumble, Team Julie, Eddy Elementary, Rett Sox Nation, Rett Hat Society, Team Ava, Emma’s Stars, ….the list goes on and on and on….thank you all. Thank you to all of our silent auction and raffle item donors! There were so many people there that made such an effort to get there—Melissa Endres with babies Jack and Finn—thanks for making the trip solo—as well as Paul Endres with baby Piper—who also made the trip solo—to Jamie and Ryan Melia with brand new baby Jacob who were brave to take him out—to Kellie Woodward, Jeff Woodward and both Woodward families for their strength to be there, to the entire Griffin family who drove from all over New England to be there! To the family members from Milton, Weymouth and Danvers—thank you all….again, so many more people who traveled from afar and who had to make great effort to be there—thank you. Thank you to Izzie Bizzie’s family who traveled from Virginia to attend! Thank you to Linda & Jamie O’Rourke, Holly & Jeff Rutko, Jackie Piscatelli & Mike Ventura and Shannon & Jared Reeves and Carolyn & Dan Pastore for the impromptu after party at our house—so fun! Thank you town of Dennis for welcoming our event! To my main helpers, other than my amazing husband, Justin Endres—Jared Reeves and Jackie Piscatelli, thank you for your incredible help and being there to make sure things were perfect. Thank you to Michele Higgins who captured the day through taking pictures—we will share those in the next few days! We love you, Jillian Endres, as well as every single girl that was there in person as well as ALL the girls who have Rett syndrome…the Cape Cod Strollathon will continue until we have treatments or a cure for you all. We won’t ever quit! We are well over $80,000 with more money coming in today and we know will continue to come in the upcoming weeks! We are sure to hit $100K!!! Already looking forward to the 9th Annual Cape Cod Strollathon—tentative date—last Saturday of September 2014.
