We learned the other day of the passing of Pete Miller, who was very instrumental in the early days of Mountain Shelter, HOPEs predecessor. Pete worked with us at Mountain Shelter first on the purchase of his duplex property in 1996--our first property acquisition. And then four years later, Mountain Shelter in partnership with the Wytheville Redevelopment Housing Authority, acquired the Johnsons Motel on West Lee Highway here in Wytheville, which was converted to the Southridge develpment. Pete had retired first to Canada, then Florida, before dying Nov. 16 in Canada. Full of laughter and great humor, he will be missed. RIP.
