We live in a historic home in Joplin that, interestingly enough, has no bathroom on the ground floor. When my wife broke her ankle, her ability to navigate our older home was hindered due to scarring from her cancer treatment... That means she was unable to use crutches in a traditional manner. Add that to the no bathroom on the ground floor issue and Doris was, for all intents and purposes, confined to our upstairs for multiple weeks.
