We lost a 126 year old piece of Tarboros history this week..Business are closing daily...Our esteemed Town Council put an occupancy tax on local hotels and now we lost one of those...(wasnt a great one but it was still a local business). With one side of their faces they bemoan the loss of Tarboros young people and in the next breath they want to turn it into a retirement community...What is going to bring Tourists or even retirees here? The Mall owners cant even get a 5 and below to come here...and why should they? We as residents of Tarboro support NOTHING...I still mourn the loss of Stacks and the Suburban....This isnt going to be a popular opinion but its mine..Its time for the old moneyed people of this town let some young blood in with bright shiny new ideas that might just save this town from someday looking like Bethel.....(my opinion but I stand by it).. Cmon Tarboro we are better than this!! PS. Edgecombe Electric closed last week as well..
