We must take a hard look at Africa I want to say up front - TopicsExpress

We must take a hard look at Africa I want to say up front that I believe that Africa is the magnificent motherland all those from Africa are exceptionally human beings with NO equal, period. I make no apologies about the way I feel for my brothers and sisters, if this is a problem for some of you, let me be clear, I dont care, not one bit. I will not defend the atrocities committed against my Great Ancestors to make some of my black friends more comfortable with their white friends, I dont care about how your white friends feel about me, it is of no concern. I want to present what I feel is an interesting disconnect between our feelings for the motherland and the reality of what is actually taking place in the motherland. Is it logical that we continue to hold on to this idea of a mythical Africa or would it benefit the motherland if we looked at her in more modern, realistic terms? No disrespect meant, because there are reasons for the destruction of Africa, but we must wake up to the FACT that Africa is a HOT ASS MESS. The facts are bleak, nearly 500,000,000 million of our sub-subharan African brothers and sisters are on the brink of genocide, most live on the equivalent of $1.25 a day or less, thats a very sad and pathetic reality. I talk to brothers and sisters who live in Africa on the daily and trust when I tell you that theyre not concerned with whats going on with us brothers and sisters in America, they are concerned with pulling themselves up out of crushing poverty. I personally agree with their lack of interest in what our people are up against in THE RICHEST COUNTRY ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH hell, theyre trying to exist. Is it right for us to constantly talk about our version of an idealistic self created concept of the motherland while not doing a damn thing to help our brothers and sisters who cling to life? We have done the same thing to our African brothers and sisters as the oppressors have done to us, weve hijacked their culture, hetitage, identity to use as we see fit, all the while keeping the Africans whos identity we so comfortably steal from are left out in the cold. We are no better than the white man when it comes to the treatment of our African brothers and sisters, as a matter of fact, we are worse, because the Africans that we so casually use to propagate our message are family. So lets get off of this Africa kick and actually help out a brother or sister who lives in Africa and so desperately needs our help.
