We need to be very careful not to take Scripture out of context...even if we are using it for edification or warning. When we do this, we risk changing the meaning and intention of the Scripture, and concerning the gospel, we risk delivering another gospel, which is no gospel at all. It does not matter if our intentions are good - if we misinterpret Scripture and share it, we are endangering souls. We need to be sure we are reading the Scripture within the context of the chapter, book/epistle it is found in. This is something all Christians need daily help with - I must turn to and rely on the Holy Spirit to teach me Scripture, to help me understand it, and to obey and apply it to my life. We cannot rely on mans traditions and teachings and popular belief/opinion.
