We need to channel the anger and frustration we feel towards the current political climate of Australia towards positive change. We can do this by keeping informed of the facts, sharing this information with our friends, family and work colleagues and voicing our anger at both the LNP and ALP for their lack of policy, vision and compassion for the real issues facing our time: climate change, asylum seekers, indigenous rights, gender equality, better education and distribution of wealth, and marriage equality. Check out Colourfest Film Festival this week as they discuss racism or the Environmental Film Festival Melbourne for films on Environmental issues. Listen to the amazing community radio stations we have such as Triple R (3RRR 102.7FM), PBS 106.7fm Melbourne and 3CR Community Radio as they are our voice of reason among the corporate controlled mainstream media. Support community based groups doing amazing work such as RISE (Refugee Survivors and Ex-detainees) and Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC). Support community groups that showcase indigenous arts, culture and music such as AWME - Australasian Worldwide Music Expo. Or film festivals giving voice to minorities i.e. Human Rights Arts and Film Festival and African Film Festival Australia.
