“We need to leave right now! get up! EARTHQUAKE! We have to pick up the kids from school, something bad is coming”. The cries I heard the morning as I was getting ready for school, after feeling an 8.1 magnitude earthquake, which was then followed by great waves moments after. I remember as if it was just yesterday; the worry, the panic, the fear, and of course the grieving of those who were taken away by the 2009 Tsunami. Five years today, yet the screams still rings loudly in my ears. I ask that we take a moment to remember all those that were affected by this tragic event. Pray for those who are still in pain and who are still grieving. Hold them into the Light! #PrayingForSamoa (Both Pago Pago and Western)
