We never really say goodbye....Going tonight to pay my respects....She was one of the Best, guys...Shes STILL one of the BEST...Because those we love, never really go away... Sweet Trish, You were one of the best. You were my boss years ago, during a time when I was feeling more than a little lost. My mama had passed away that year and many of my memories of that time in my life are a blur of grief and uncertainty. But I do remember turning 21 and being greeted at work with balloons, gifts, and goodies. You even decorated my little car. I started to cry, because of your sweet gesture. You pulled me into your arms, hugged me fiercly, and whispered, Oh honey, dont you worry, youve got lots of mamas in this world who will step in and love on you. Years after that job, I saw you at Walmart. You gave me the same fierce hug, loving on me as though you had seen me just the day before, as though no time had passed. Thats how you were, with EVERYONE that you loved. Time didnt fade your love one bit. When you told me that you had married Billy Freeman, my very first thought was, Well, that makes total sense. Because BOTH of you love the exact same way....fiercly...and timelessly. And watching you together...well...it was like watching a carefully crafted sheet of notes and lyrics come to life. Like music, the notes are simply paper and symbols, until that magic moment, when an instrument and its humble player breathes life into it. Thats who you were, Trish. An incredibly beautiful instrument. And you and your humble player, Billy, made a timeless piece of music. The best music is said to portray all emotions. Its the song that can bring out everything...tears and smiles. Its the song that you could literally listen to, during all times of your life. Its the song that always leaves you breathless, with that bittersweet feeling that makes it hard to swallow. Thats who you were. Who you both ARE. Because like the best music, like the best mixing of instrument with player, your love is timeless. I love you, Trish. Thanks for being more than a great boss to me...thanks for being like a mama to me... when I was broken. Thanks for showing me the music.
