We pay taxes to Uhurus government so that he can guarantee our security. I personally pay at least Kshs. 1 million shillings every month as taxes. With the cash he collects he is supposed to hire enough law enforcement officers, streamline immigration, buy armoured vehicles to patrol our borders etc. He now says we are on our own. That we are are also responsible to guarantee the provision of security services. While he may be right in some sense what has he done with our taxes so far ? We, the taxpayers are asking him to fire that cook who heads the security Ministry simply to instil public confidence in the system. He has refused. We ask him to call the top cop to pull up his socks. He has refused. Surely ???????? I now understand the meaning of the phrase: Choices have consequences.
