We received a message from a bereaved mom wanting to open a discussion with our Facebook family. Please reach out to her by posting your thoughts. “I wonder if we might open a discussion about something I noticed being said multiple times recently. There was a discussion about someones child being murdered and there were multiple comments about murder being ‘the worst for a parent to deal with’ or ‘the hardest kind of death.’ I wanted so much to comment that I think it doesnt matter how a child died -- having a child die in any way is the worst grief to deal with. My son happened to die from a drug overdose and I cant help but think of parents whose children died after long battles with different diseases or birth defects or those who took their own lives... I think sometimes our grief is ‘complicated’ by certain factors, but I also believe that no death of a child is ‘worse’ than another for parents. The loss is always profound, no matter the reason. Thank you.â€
