We received our electricity bill from Origin Energy today. There is a fee of $3.80 for reading the meter. First time that we have noticed that one. Well guess what, they didnt read the meter. Four and a half years ago, Origin demanded that we install a smart meter. The smart meter has a SIM card in it and just after midnight every day electronically sends all of the statistics of our electricity usage in half hourly blocks for the past 24 hours to them. We were not advised of a new fee that we would have to pay, particularly for a task not completed. My comment below shows out electricity usage and solar generation yesterday, in half hourly blocks. This is exactly what origin received and I know that because I have got this data from their Web site.
