We received the following message from Lynn Catley who works in Medical Supply Services here at Hospice of Santa Cruz County: Hello everyone – I wanted to take a minute to share an amazing story that happened to me last Friday as I was doing a “mobile support” for a patient. I parked the van a couple houses down from our patient. When I got out of the car and started walking down the street a lady got out of a parked car and said – excuse me, you work for hospice? I said – yes ma’am She said – I have a dear friend that is dying and on hospice care. (She started to cry), I just want to say thank you for all that your company and the people that work in hospice do for not just the patients that you have but for giving friends comfort too. It is one of the hardest things a person can go through but somehow hospice makes it better. Can I give you a hug? I said – of course and I appreciate what you said – I will pass that on to all my hospice family, this line of work is a blessing. She then got in her car and drove off… So if you ever have any doubts about what you do – know that I was privileged to get a thank you on behalf of all of you!! You are amazing souls and I count myself blessed to be a part of the family.
