We received this email--. I technically have both legs currently. I am facing having my left leg amputated below the knee. You see, I have an MRSA infection in my left foot. they didnt amputate my foot but had toremove bones and abscesses and drilled holes in other bones where the infection got into the bones. The orthopedic surgeon said when the infection flairs up again then the leg will have to go. I have no job as I have been in the hospital since Nov. 22 2013. I have been home about 2 months. the foot has started acting up again. I am scared to call the doctor but with it being MRSA my life is in danger. It nearly killed me before. I was dying on my way to the hospital. I cannot afford a Prosthetic I looked online and saw they were between $5000 and $8000. Is that right? E-bay had them for $100 - 500.. I have no clue and dont know what to think. I am rally trying to be brave for everyone especially my Son. My wife passed away Nov. 1st 2009. So he needs me to be strong. I am really so very scared. Is it bad for a 48 year old to be freaking out a bit? And if I do lose the leg will that make me less of a person than I was? Is that a bad thing to ask? I apologize if it is. Well, Ill go for now.
