We received this information from the Kit Carson Riding Club regarding a special event that they are holding this weekend if any one is interested: Kit Carson Riding Club is hosting a Benefit Fun Day for Mike Burdett - an Extreme Cowboy Association Racer and long time member of Kit Carson Riding Club. Mike was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and as such, KCRC is hosting the Benefit to raise funds for Mike and wife Jeanne at this critical time. Horse and Rider pairs who donate $40.00 for the day will have access to 3 Clinicians/Speakers (Frank Ybarra, Mike Lehnertz and Cindy Williams - ExCA Judge), Cattle Sorting Practice Runs, Gymkhana and Fun Runs and more. Lunch included with $40.00 donation. For an additional $5.00 per person per run, riders can participate in the afternoon Jackpot Runs. Riders are encouraged to obtain the Event schedule and pre-register by contacting Rosie Mitchell at 719.339.2942 or send an email to luv2lope@skybeam. Non horse people (spectators) and kids are FREE. There will be activities for the kids: Bounce House, Stick Horse Race, Movies and more. We are also holding a Silent Auction and many items are already on the list including a ton of hay, gift cards, certificates, and much more.
