We remember Sept. 21 as the day Ferdinand Marcos declared martial law 41 years ago. With a single stroke of the pen, Marcos wrote finis to our democratic traditions. The martial law declaration gave rise to a dictatorship notorious for greed and rapacity, extravagance, high level corruption, crony capitalism, and massive human rights violations. he martial law regime constitutes the dark chapters of our history. Never again shall a dictatorship happen our country. Never again shall our people sleep during the darkest hours of our country. We have learned our lessons in history. NEVER AGAIN!
