Stuart signs with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1951. His 1st professional team would be the Modesto Reds. He breaks in with the Pirates in 1958. He earns a WS ring with the Pirates in 1960. He is a National League All-star in 1961. He also leads the National League in Ks with 121. On November 20, 1962: Traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates with Jack Lamabe to the Boston Red Sox for Jim Pagliaroni and Don Schwall. In 1963, he leads the American League in rbis with 118. Plays 2 seasons in Boston and then in 1965, he plays for the Philadelphia Phillies. 1966, he starts the season with the New York Mets and finishes playing in the World Series for the Dodgers. In 1967 and 1968 he travels across the ocean and plays for the Taiyo Whales in Japan. He returns to the states in 1969, plays for the Phoenix Giants and returns to the majors and plays 22 games for the California Angels.
