We returned from South Dakota last night so I decided to cap off - TopicsExpress

We returned from South Dakota last night so I decided to cap off the perfect vacation by going flying this afternoon. It was clear with extremely calm winds all day so I was anxious to get to the C-Springs airport and put some air under my butt. When I left my neighborhood I saw a couple of cop cars on the side of the highway. As I drove by to see what they were doing, I realized they were directing traffic around a plane crash. I later heard everyone was OK, but somebody had actually crash landed their plane in a ravine about a mile from my house. I finally got to the airport, still with light winds on the ground, and I asked a friend who had just landed how it was up there and he said it was very bumpy and the winds were all over the place at altitude. Before stepping to the plane I walked into the pilot lounge to get the latest weather forecast. On the TV, there was a story about how bad winds had triggered multiple hot air balloon crashes in Denver today, to include one guy who got blown into a power line. Then I got the latest weather report only to discover the winds that were 6 knots just 10 minutes prior when I got out of my car had picked up to 23 knots. Between the crash, the news report and the sudden unforecast change in weather all within a 30 minute window, I decided God was trying to tell me something so I stayed on the ground today :-)
