We rode our bikes to Ronsenville for The Polish Festival. Gathered over 100 signatures for our petition. Jacob and I had a great time. Lots of supports and knowledge can get a child through this. Amazing people; Teachers, Therapists, EMS, Police all spoke to Jacob and encouraged him to follow his dreams. As a mom: Thank-You for taking the time to talk with my son & I. It was a wonderful day. While I was inside at Tim Hortons getting treats (coffee) I came outside where Jacob was watching our bikes. Jacob said see that man in the wheelchair over there? I said yes--Jacob said I gave him all my money. He needs it. At first I was upset because we dont have very much money and as I was thinking the man in the wheelchair lite a cigarette. I spoke to Jacob again about the importance of giving, but also having enough for ourselves too. Jacob taught me a lesson at this point. He squeezed my arm and pointed at the man in the wheelchair--SEE Im not the only one giving; as I watched an elderly woman put bills into the mans hand. He quickly inserted the bills between a page in his book. I was only thinking of the value of the almighty dollar for us to bus it home. I wasnt thinking of the needs of others at that point. You see, earlier Jacob wanted a $23 rack of ribs. I said No I dont have that kind of money, Im sorry I told Jacob. Jacob said: But we can share it. Not a big rib lover but love seeing my son happy--I started ripping apart my backpack looking for enough money. I was able to have enough for the ribs and coffee for later. I didnt have enough for the bus back. Jacob said dont worry I have enough for the bus. You take the bus Jacob said and I will follow the bus home all the way!!! This was also Jacobs idea to ride there and back. Jacob is an incredible bike rider. Just feel bad that I couldnt keep up. Why is it that every hill down has a red light?
