We seldom think of death, we only allow our senses to indulge in that thought when someone close to us dies. This is totally the opposite of the sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad(pbuh). He recommended it as it purifies ones heart by letting go of his/her troubles of this world & learning to forgive others.
