We shared this on our Clinic page a few days ago and thought itd be good to share on my page as well ... Youve most likely seen the ALS Ice Bucket Challenges floating around here on Facebook, and we wanted to share this little 3 minute video to help people become aware of what the cause is that they are donating to. This video shows a sobering, but straightforward look at the disease. As a clinic, we have had the honour of walking alongside people at varying points in their terminal journey of this horrific disease, and can honestly say it is beyond tragic to watch what they and their families endure as the disease progresses. :( Here is a quote from an August 18th TIME article: “What started out as a small gesture to put a smile on Anthony’s face and bring some awareness to this terrible disease has turned into a national phenomenon and it is something we never could have dreamed of,” ~Chris Kennedy. The ALS Association says it started seeing an unexplained uptick in donations on July 29, and on Aug. 4, it was clear something was really taking off. The organization said Monday that it’s received more than $15 million from existing donors and 307,598 new donors.
