We should all be thankful to the Indian army for taking up rescue work in Kashmir or for that matter any other region/state of the country. But I dont think it would be appropriate for us to expect Kashmiri Muslims in particular to shed their ingratitude and thank the Indian Army for rescuing them. First, Kashmir is not just inhabited by Muslims, though they are more in number. Second, Kashmir cannot be treated like any other state which is not being subjected to AFSPA. Ordinary people who do not wish to associate themselves with the politics of the region in any way also have to suffer because of the application of this draconian act (Though of course, it cant be withdrawn at this moment.) Saviours should get rid of their messianic syndrome...
