We should always preach Gods love to the lost. God loves you he showed that 2000 years ago but whilst you are disobedient his wrath abides on you. That is the perfect amount of talking about Gods love until after you have spoken about his wrath and condemnation. Just solely saying God loves you so much will not truly save anyone as we can see from the TV preachers etc. People need to understand they have transgressed Gods law, are sinners, God hates them(Psalm 5:5)(But still shown his love to them), God is angry with the wicked everyday, they need to repent and be reconciled to God, and that they must become disciples of Christ etc. But there can be 1 downfall to this if we dont speak on the act of Gods love, the death, burial and resurrection then we are not fully preaching what the Apostles preached. So we need balance we need to preach the full council of God to the lost.
