We should cry on our inability to cry when the Quran is recited. Abdullaah ibn ‘Urwa ibn Zubayr said to his grandmother; Asmaa bint Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anha) that: ►What was the state of the Companions of the Messenger ...of Allaah (sallAllahu alyhi wasallam) when the Qur’an was recited to them?’ She said ►“They were just like how Allaah described them: Their eyes shedding tears, and their skins shivering.” Allaah Taala says, Allâh has sent down the BEST statement, a Book (this Qur’ân), its parts resembling each other in goodness and truth, oft-repeated. The skins of those who fear their Lord tremble thereat (when they recite it or hear it). Then their skins and their hearts soften to the remembrance of Allâh. That is the guidance of Allâh. He Guides therewith whom He pleases and whomever Allâh sends astray, for him there is no guide. [Az-Zumar: 23]
