We spent the short school holiday doing a massive cleaning/weeding campaign on our property. Those who could wield an axe or machete put them to use, others grabbed saws and hoes, buckets and rakes... We have about 80 palm oil trees on our property and we are determined to get them cleaned up! The previous property owners never cleaned them so it is a HUGE task... we sure could use a chainsaw :) At Kwetu Faraja we all pitch in with the work of our home. We believe it is really important to keep our boys busy and give them activities to use up their energy (anyone who has raised boys will know what I mean). We are teaching them to be good stewards of our land, to care for their environment, and NOT to be lazy - it helps keep them out of trouble! Most importantly, all of our employees come along beside our boys in the work - every person contributes as he/she is able. Will have photos soon of the results of our labor!
