We started the Sponsor Challenge about halfway through the year at each tournament stop. The short of it was that if anyone caught a designated species that was Fish Ohio sized during the tournament they would win a prize. That prize? A Smallie Stix custom built rod! There were a few anglers that entered tournaments just to target species to try to win the awesome Smallie Stix rod, but after several very, very close calls it went unclaimed and was entered into the raffle at the end of the year. The winner of that raffle wanted to pass along this message..... Smallie Stix was kind enough to supply BKFT with one of its beautiful custom rods this season. I was looking to make it mine by winning one the Sponsor Challenges at the BKFT events throughout the season. At the Final event I finally thought I had my chance when I hooked into a 30 plus pike that was going to make my goal a reality, but that pike had other plans .As luck would have it, I got a hold of that Smallie Stix anyway via the post-event raffle. I was thinking that new rod was going to be perfect for throwing my squarebill crankbaits and I was right about that!!! Ive been able to put it to the test a few times and it has been a dream. Couldnt be happier with the finish and performance of my new Smallie Stix rod! Thanks Smallie Stix and thanks BKFT!!! - Shawn Skidmore
