We struggle and work hard to make our life in this world comfortable. In this process we forget that our life here is short, and our stay temporary. Death is waiting for us. We do not remember the world (hereafter) where life is eternal. Where everyone will be rewarded (or punished) according to his performance in this world. One who knows and understands this truth struggles for the real world besides enjoying the blessings of Allah in this world. Tirmizi has narrated an event in his book of Hadith that shows how a true believer is better in the Hereafter. A Jewish couple accepted Islam. They had a young daughter who died immediately after they converted to Islam. The other Jews taunted the couple that their daughter died because they accepted Islam. In grief, they went to the Holy Prophet and told him how their people (other Jews) taunted and teased them on the death of their daughter. The Holy Prophet asked them to take him to her grave. They took him to a hill and pointed towards the top where their daughter was buried. Standing at the bottom of the hill, the Holy Prophet called out, ‘O daughter come, the Messenger of Allah is calling you.’ The grave of the girl opened and she came running. She hugged her parents and the Holy Prophet asked her: ‘Now tell me where you want to stay, with your parents or at the place where you come from?’ The girl said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, please pray that Allah removes my love from the hearts of my parents. I want to go where I come from, because I found Allah better than my parents.’
