We the People of Michigan are completely organized to collect the necessary signatures to restore Michigans Constitution back to a Part-Time Legislature as it was prior to 1963! Only four States (California, Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania) still have a full-time legislature,...all other (46) states operate with some form of a Part-Time Legislature. Leading the Committee to Restore Michigans Part-Time Legislature signature petition drive effort is Marlene Elwell of Oakland County. Marlene led the effort back in 2004 to put Michigans Marriage Protection Amendment on its November ballot by gathering over 462,000 signatures in just 6 1/2 weeks. Marlene brings that experience and the experience from other successful campaigns to this effort and she is fully confident that this network that has been organized will be as successful as well.
