We thought we would share, Make it a Great Thursday! Hi, I ordered a round bale net and received it Monday this week. I am LOVING this thing! I am feeding 1100 lb bales in a hay ring with three horses on it. They have been eating this to the ground in about 3 weeks, sometimes less. Not fun for my check book!!!! By now, they would have had it tore up and all over the place! My messy one, well, he is not happy he can no longer fling hay all over the place. HAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!! There is less bickering between the 3 because they have to work at getting the hay out. It is even more entertaining to watch the dynamics going on, now that they have to think about eating. Hahahha. I was a little skeptical of the round bale nets at first. I have one horse with shoes and two barefoot. Some of my friends who have used them didnt have much luck with them and said they were a pain to put on with no tractor, it is a two man job, horses with shoes and so on. I do believe that they are crazy! Maybe they didnt watch the video on how easy it is to dress your hay with a strap and your truck! Lol ( just kidding on the crazy part.) We made our own hay strap thingie with a tow strap and off I went. Slapped the hay ring over it and it has already saved me money! I am taking photos of the progress of it being eaten down so I can show people the difference. Some people around here have never heard of such a thing as a round bale net. They just giggle when I tell them and say oh thats nice. I think to myself, silly girls, hay nets are for people who want to have less mess, flies and save money.
