We traveled 370 miles today to get through Nebraska and into Iowa! Yes Steven Campanale, Nebraska is a long freakin state!!! It seemed like a transition state for me. For the first one hundred or so miles the scenery and topography still held a western feeling. Soon we started to see more green, more corn, more farms and deciduous trees. It was nice to experience the change. Route 80 East is an interstate crossing the state. The speed limit is 75 and there are many, many trucks. The good thing about the trucks is the drivers are courteous and careful drivers. The problem for me is trying to see the horizon ahead and the wind gusts they cause. It is pretty breezy here at baseline, add the gusts from the trucks and it can be a bit of a challenge to drive. Maddie was a dear. She snuggled into her bed and occasionally popped up to take a look around and settled in again, we arrived in Iowa and were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the countryside is. I think the heartland is beautiful! I am thankful we have had great weather passing through Nebraska and now Iowa. Looking forward to the Iowa State Fair tomorrow!
