We understand that from time to time Church members will have questions about Church doctrine, history, or practice. Members are always free to ask such questions and earnestly seek greater understanding . . . Simply asking questions has never constituted apostasy. I welcome clarity from the Church at the official level, as well as the reassurance that we can continue to ask questions and pray about issues and practices, seeking better understanding and being open to developments and even new revelation. I hope, however, that this does not encourage any of us to devolve into an I told you so mentality. We still should mourn with those who mourn and feel nothing but charity for those who feel differently, choose to leave, or have been cut off. The events of this last week remain sad for all incolved.
