We understand that one of the best wildflower showings is currently at Saddleback Butte State Park. The Dowen Trail at SBSP is named for Dic Dowen, a co-founder of the Antelope Valley Heritage Foundation, which was the communitys first attempt at a local land trust. The AV Heritage Foundation joined the Antelope Valley Trails Council to form AVTREC, which was adopted by Antelope Valley Conservancy in 2007 and lives on as our trails committee. Antelope Valley Conservancy does great things, so get involved!
