We want to send out a great big THANK YOU to everyone who helped - TopicsExpress

We want to send out a great big THANK YOU to everyone who helped us in our search for Ruckus! Our hearts are soaring as he is now safe, warm, and has a full belly. We had so many FB posts, shares, people discussing possibilities, etc. The community once again rallied together for our organization and our sweet little missing dog. Then there were the countless cars and people walking around and driving around Crescent Rd last night and today, people putting up fliers, knocking on doors, etc. People hiking through the woods at 2 in the morning at -10 degrees (thanks for the hot chocolate June :)), it was wonderful to have that much support when we were worried sick about Ruckus. Ruckus was rescued off the kill list in CA and were fairly certain he was abused at some point in his life because he is scared of his own shadow. This little bugger has been through a lot in his short time on Earth. Yesterday, he went to go meet his potential adopters (who also tirelessly searched for him) and while we knew going in he wouldnt be overly receptive to new people, nobody expected him to slip out of his collar and run full boar down Crescent Road and dart into the woods. Despite hours and hours of searching, there was nothing, not even a sighting. The temp last night with wind chill was around -20 degrees. We feared the worst but prayed hard. How could this abused little California dog survive a night in the woods with coyotes and those temps? This afternoon we got the word that two AMAZING girls--Sophia and Lauren Kefalinos had spent the entire day searching the woods for Ruckus. Way off the beaten path, in the middle of nowhere and far from where we were even looking, they heard something under a snow covered pine tree. It was our boy. They called Stef immediately and had their Grandma Linda go out to the tree with them, treats and blankets in tow. They were smart not to scare him further and waited for Stef. Rucky heard Stef and it must have been the sweetest sound he had ever heard! He was alive and uninjured, sitting on a tiny patch of grass under this pine tree. Sophia and Lauren, you are our heroes! Thank you ALL for being the best community and IM21 family, we could NOT do this without you
