We want to share with you NoPo Paws, our new food, treat, toy and supplement supplier. Please take a moment to explore their FB page and website to learn more about them, especially if you are local. Those if you that have been taking part in our journey for a while now know that for years we were working with another local store, Green Dog Pet Supply. Shortly after we started shopping there they extended a 10% discount. As our family grew they increased that discount to a very generous 20%. We have always been deeply grateful for their generosity and continue to be. In addition to the discount they provided a gift basket for last years auction and gave us some free goodies from time to time...I can not express enough how generous they have been. The owners and their team are wonderful...friendly and knowledgeable. We really love them. Last week they contacted and notified me that they would no longer be extending a discount to us. They felt that with our following and support it was time to provide assistance to another up and coming rescue. I agree that providing support to another group is an excellent idea. I did ask them if they had a standard discount for rescues, like 10% and if we could receive that. They expressed that the value of our discounts had been very generous and they could not extend anything to us. As much as I love them we had to consider partnering with another store if we could receive a discount. I did some research and came across NoPo Paws. Lisa did a recon mission and thought they would be a good fit for us. I stopped by on Tuesday, checked out the store and introduced myself to the very nice owner Sara. The store carries nearly all of the goodies we use, and can get us the things they do not. The store is corn and wheat free, eco-friendly and all the other things that are important to us. The store is small, and the atmosphere is intimate...only the owner and one other person work there. She offers a 10% discount to all legitimate rescues (incorporated and registered). Every quarter she selects a group that she works closely with providing a larger discount and donating 10% of her profits to them. Based on our conversation I can tell she is very focused on giving back to the animal welfare community in various ways, and I really love that. I shared with the owner that based on our accounting records we spent an average of $840.00 month at Green Dog last year, after our discount. She figured that based on volume alone she could offer us a discount. Prices are identical to Green Dog, except a few items which were significantly less. One of the supplements that we use was $12.99 less...before any discount...awesome!! I placed an order while I was there for 12 bags of food, which should be worth about $700.00. I hope that will help get our relationship off on the right foot. We are looking forward to working with Sara and NoPo Paws!!
