We wanted to Hopefully Educate some of you about the recent Talk and Discussion here in Alabama about the use of Cannabis/Marijuana as it relates to Children with Epilepsy and Seizures. Some of You are New to this Cannabis/Marijuana Medicine so we wanted to Simplify and try to Explain the current situation here in Alabama. Recently we here in Alabama have been introduced to a Bill in our Legislature so-named Carlys Law. Named after a Young Alabama child Carly that has a Debilitating Seizure-like Disease. Basically the Initial efforts surrounding Carlys Law focused on what is Called Cannabidiol or CBD. And the Initial Legislative Effort (which is On-Going) was the introduction of a Legally Defendable Medicine that had Only Cannabidiol/CBD as its main ingredient. While we wont go into the complicated Legally Defendable part of Carlys Law Initial Wording at the moment; as we want to Focus on the Actual Medicine and its Ingredients. The Reason as to Why just CBD/Cannabidiol? The focus for a Medicine to be given to these Children was Cannabidiol/CBD; it alone would Not produce the HIGH that one is used to seeing when taking Cannabis.Marijuana. That and Cannabidiol/CBD also is relatively simple to Derive from the Cannabis/Marijuana plant in a Synthesized manner. However; Below we want to discuss these Other 7 Major Compounds in Cannabis/Marijuana and we will go on to explain that any medicine that is effective will have ALL of these Major Compounds; rather than just the Cannabidiol alone. Here are the Major Compounds in Cannabis---------- (-)-[delta 1]-3,4-trans-tetrahydrocannabinol (most active cannabinoid) (-)-[delta 6]-3,4-trans-tetrahydrocannabinol tetrahydrocannabitriol (aka cannabitriol) cannabidiolic acid cannabidiol cannabinol (forms after plant dies)------------------ THC acids A and B (inactive unless smoked) As you can clearly see there are some 7 Major Compounds that Make up the Cannabis/Marijuana Plant. There are some 300 Known Compounds in all. Im sure some of you might have Heard talk of CBD or as some of you know it to be named Cannabidiol. Which is the Focus of the Majority of the Medical Cannabis use for Children with Epilepsy and Grand Mal-Like Seizures. However; one can NOT expect to single out just this one Compound and expect truly the Best Results fighting these Seizure-Like Diseases and Afflictions. Scientific Study and Independent Research World-wide in the last 20 years has shown Great Promise and Very Satisfying Results from a Concerted Cannabis/Marijuana derived Medicine to a Number of Seizure-like and even Cancer and Auto-Immune Diseases. However; Our Alabama Governor Bentley and allot of the Alabama Legislature are on Record of wanting to do single out Just this One compound Cannabidiol/CBD thru a Pharmacological Derivation Process. Whilst none of us want to see our Children getting High while Taking Medicinal Cannabis to fight Diseases. We must however realize that if we want to Truly Fight these Seizure and Epileptic Diseases we must also Prescribe and Produce Medicines that have ALL of the Major Compounds in Cannabis/Marijuana. Why You Ask ? Scientific Evidence has shown through both Laboratory and Actual Human Dosing Research that the Best Results were realized by Using the WHOLE Cannabis/Marijuana Plant, which includes these 7 Major Compounds show above. Moreover; Out in Colorado there is a Strain of Cannabis/Marijuana Called Charlottes Web. This Cannabis/Marijuana strain (a specific plant unique to itself) Charlottes Web, has been Cultivated and Grown to have Very HIGH CBD/Cannabidiol and as well Very Very Low THC levels. THC is the Compound in Cannabis/Marijuana that Makes the users get HIGH. THC is the Psychoactive Compound that the produces the Euphoric Enlightened Happy Feeling. But this Charlottes Web Cannabis/Marijuana Strain with its very Low THC Level produces NO HIGH what so EVER to these Children Patients. But THC is still in this Cannabis/Marijuana plant at very very low levels. Moreover; Charlottes Web does offer all these Other 7-Major Compounds, and that is why almost Miraculous results are being seen in Children with Seizures and Epilepsy. The Research has show time and again that Cannabidiol and THC and these other (7) Compounds work in Concert together. It is a COMBINED Mixture of ALL the Compounds that has shown the Best Results. This Charlottes Web Strain of Cannabis/Marijuana took Years and Years of Trial and Error to produce a Medicine that would Have all the Major Compounds but also NOT Produce Any High or Euphoric effect. Child after Child out in Colorado Now for the First Time, has a Viable and Extremely Effective Medicine to Fight these Seizure-like Diseases. So Many Children are Now showing Awesome results; that Charlottes Web has become an Internationally Known Cannabis/Marijuana Derived Medicine. So Why dont we have this Charlottes Web here in Alabama to help Our Children with these Seizure like afflictions ? First off ANY Cannabis/Marijuana Medicine is Highly Illegal here in Alabama. And Secondly Well; because for 1 reason the Pharmacy Industry doesnt have a vested interest in selling it. They would Rather sell the Very Astronomical Pills and Medicines that have shown to be both Non-effective but also Very Very Toxic and Dangerous to these Children. Our Politicians are reluctant to come out in Favor of a Medicine that is Not FDA Approved and also Not apart of some Big Pharmacological Corporation PAC that donates to their Campaign funds each election cycle. That is Why it is UP to YOU and All of Us; that Care and want to see our Children with Epileptic/Seizure like Diseases (as well as other Child Diseases), to Educate ourselves to these New and Exciting Cannabis Medicines that are showing Phenomenal results allover the Country not just in Colorado. It is Very Very Important that we NOT settle on a Cannabis Medicine that ONLY uses just the 1 single compound that can Easily be Synthesized. For that is the ONLY Reason that CBD/Cannabidiol is being mentioned as a Political Alternative rather than producing a Cannabis/Marijuana Medicine that Offers All of the 7 Major compounds. I implore all of You that are reading this, to Get in touch with your Elected Representative(s) and also our Alabama Governor Bentley. Tell these Representatives that YOU want to see brought before the Citizens of this State, a Public VOTE for Medicinal Marijuana/Cannabis. Do NOT settle on a Cheaply made Imitation; for OUR CHILDREN Deserve the Best and the REAL and ONLY Cannabis/Marijuana based Medicine that has shown to Work and Help fight these Debilitating Diseases. Not just for the Children but for ANY Alabama Patient that has exhausted regular medicine; to be able to try and use Medicinal Cannabis/Marijuana to fight their current diseases and afflictions.
