We welcome the New Year, with great hope for peace and better days for Sth Sudan. All of us faced trials & tribulations in 2014, some more than others. Everyone knows what loss feels like. Its a part of life though & with the support of family & good friends, for the most part we find the resilience to hang in there. I dont think, however, that most of us can even begin to comprehend what it is to lose everything and everyone. To lose your home, your community, your sense of security, your water supply, your source of food, your few cattle or other livestock, perhaps your entire family. Over the past 12 months, the precious children from our village, who have already suffered so much, were forced to flee the village after an attack caused by civil unrest. We go in to 2015, with a firm commitment to the orphaned & destitute children. We are about to put the feeding station into action & we plan to help to build sustainability by establishing a sewing project for the ladies. More than the practical actions we are taking; we are sending a message to the children that we havent forgotten them. We will stand by them as they pick themselves up and ultimately, we will continue to conduct fundraising activities to build the orphanage/educational facility. Thankyou to all our supporters. We so appreciate every little thing you to for BOCEP. Every cent donated, every product bought makes a difference. Each time you share our page or talk about our cause, you make a difference. Your actions are saving lives! We wish you all a Happy New Year & invite you to come on an exciting journey in 2015. Come ... watch us grow! The pics below show(from L to R) the destroyed market in Bortown. We visited the market a couple of years ago & to see it like this is terribly sad. - Children in Bor, displaced by the fighting. - Our children, safe & happy in the schoolroom they built with the help of the community & Bocep. We sat alongside the children in this classroom, on the little rows of mud seats when we visited. If they belong to no one, then we must call them ours And we must be responsible for them.
