We went on tour into Germany today to Eagles Nest in the Bavarian Mts (Hitlers Kelstein Mountain top retreat). Views from up there were amazing, a lot of cloud also though. Eagles Nest was presented to Hitler by the NSP as a gift for his 50th bday at a cost of 30million reichmarks. Took just less than 2 yrs to complete & includes a 6km winding rd designed for the Eagles Nest, a 124m tunnel & a 124m elevator to access the hideaway. Entry fees go to charity & nazi victims. Then back into Austria & Salzburg where we spent arvo looking around the city centre some more & did a bit of shopping
