We went to the Bund area of Shanghai and had dinner with some - TopicsExpress

We went to the Bund area of Shanghai and had dinner with some friends last night. We ate at the Mercato Restaurant. I have seen every great city in Europe, from the Netherlands to the south of Spain, but I have never witnessed anything like last night. The Bund is a long strip of clubs, restaurants and shops that are located on the Huangtu river, which is a tributary, of the Yanngtze river. The last part before it flows out to the China Sea. Buildings on both sides of the river are lite up, and makes Times Square in New York look like a seven eleven store in comparison. As we ate, large container ships, and dinner boats also lite up like Christmas trees floated by. It was sensory over load, and pictures cannot capture the experience. While there are some drawbacks of living here, the overall advantages win. I have been looking for a place to live, that is another unique endeavor in itself LOL. Sitting at a Starbucks, at 7:30 am, mostly expats drinking coffee, but the younger Chinese are catching on. Cheers, Dennis
