We were able to visit my brother and his family in Michigan last - TopicsExpress

We were able to visit my brother and his family in Michigan last week. It was a complete joy to watch Jacob be with his cousins, aunt, uncle and a refreshing change for us. Some of our adventures included playing on the beach and in the waters of Port Huron. Picking 12 lbs of blueberries in 30 mins. Listening to the laughter and stories of my nieces and nephew while they played with Jacob. Watching William, age 10, at his first football practice and eventually being chosen for quarterback. He and Uncle Michael never stopped talking about the sport. Sarah Damaska, Kate and I getting pedicures. Eliza Grace telling me about using hanitizer and singing a song about everything. Visiting Annie Janes grave as the kids rode bikes around the cemetery smiling and enjoying the day. The sweet and kind disposition of my sister in law and her wonderful laugh. She is also an amazing cook! Getting a hug from my brother and belly laughing about family stories or jokes. I didnt want it to end except for the humidity and mosquitos. It was a gift! As summer comes to a close so does this time of respite for us. Michael will have his port surgery on Aug 29 and start two chemos and steroids Sept 1. The future is unknown and worrisome but as a fellow cancer patient and great man recently said It is what it is. We had such a great summer... Heres to a great Fall for all!
